FISH MARKET: ROSTE* THAT ILLUMINATE

The overall project is the exploitation of water streams of the historic center of Treviso using micro hydroelectric units with permanent magnet generators.

  • Lighting and enhancement of the historic center by LED lighting.

  • Real time reports of network system on screens to be placed in schools and public offices to exploit the water resources of the city of Treviso respecting the environment and the ancient wheels still present into waterways.

  • The energy produced will serve as a clean source for LED lighting, enhancing the historic center and its riverside as well as monitoring in real time the production and the consumption of electricity.

  • Teachers, students, public authorities, private organizations and associations, according to their competences, have been involved.

  • A synergy among Schools, Institutions, Public Authorities, World of Work and Associations.

  • The first wheel that will be performed again is that of the logo and will allow to light the little island where there is the fish market, creating a bright halo along its edge, in order to enhance it.

THE “ENERGY” BIKE GIORGI-FERMI

The bike “energy” Giorgi-Fermi The bike “energy” Giorgi-Fermi was an initiative of the City of Treviso for the side events to the passage of the Tour of Italy in May 2015.

  • The task of the school was to create a system that, by dint of pedaling, generated electricity and so organize a 12-hour marathon on the bike.

  • The system is based on a city bike on roller mechanically connected to a permanent magnet generator (new generation) which powers a halogen lamp. To make more “visual” the energy production, it has been designed an apparatus controlled by a PLC which operates a colored lights column that indicates the electricity produced.

  • Today the bike has been updated and expanded in functionality and has been requested by the Museum of Natural History and Archeology in Montebelluna for the educational activities of the Exhibition “Science and Sport” until May 2017.

  • The new version allows you to choose three levels of power to test your skills: base = child-100W, medium = adult-200W, pro = professional-300W; which are the powers developable on the pedals by man. There is also the control of instantaneous power display on a monitor and in project the integration of a heart rate monitor.

  • All the design and construction work was carried out by students of Giorgi institute using easily available materials, often recycled, and above all the creativity in finding original technical solutions without neglecting the safety both electrical and mechanical, considered that it will be used to a great extent by schoolchildren 

 

The Green Schools project is developed in our school for many years.

The main purpose of the project is the dissemina on to young people of the principles rela ng to environmental sustainability .

The aims of this project are common to the technical and scien c disciplines of the rst two years - Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry – and of the last three years -Electrical, Electronics, Energy Systems.

The topics discussed in these years have been the reduc on of energy consump on and energy produc on from renewable sources.

In par cular:

ï‚· the reduc on of energy consump on has been implemented through raising awareness on reducing energy waste:

  • - by informa on on recycling methods

  • - by informa on on the use of high-e ciency light sources

  • - sugges ng changes in behavior

ï‚· the produc on of energy from renewable sources has been developed by analyzing the energy resources in the area to carry out an energy micro produc on “at 0 km “.
